In very good condition, with intersecting folds, some scattered staining, and a contemporary ink notation to the top margin. The Little Belt affair was a naval battle off the North Carolina coast on the night of May 16, 1811, involving the United States frigate USS President and the British sixth-rate HMS Little Belt, a sloop-of-war. One American sailor was injured, while the Little Belt suffered nine dead and 23 injured. The Little Belt Affair was one of many incidents and events that led to the War of 1812.
