Addison G. Jerome Document Signed Securities broker and speculator (1811-1864) who amassed a fortune in the stock market and established his own banking house; he eventually lost his fortune in his attempt to corner the Michigan Southern Railroad. Partly-printed DS, signed by Addison G. Jerome, “A. G. Jerome & Co.,” one page, 11 x 6.75, July 1, 1862. Stock certificate for 58 shares in the St. Louis, Alton and Terre Haute Railroad Company issued to A. G. Jerome & Co., endorsed on the reverse by Addison G. Jerome. The attractive certificate features a railroad scene along the lower border. Handsomely cloth-matted and framed with a biographical plaque to an overall size of 19 x 21, with a window in the backing for viewing the reverse. In fine condition.
