The wedding took place at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., in front of 700 guests and a large television audience. President Johnson and Lady Bird presented a small amount of signed photos to senior White House staff as their Christmas gift for 1966—with this one being presented to the vice president and his wife.
