Olympic Games/ summer, 1920/ Antwerp/ Ice skating. Album with cover (23x33) and "Ice Skating" in gold lettering, Italian format, side lace. Winter sports, which made their appearance at the London Games, appear here on the beautiful ice rink....Figure skating and ice hockey monopolize the 35 beautiful photos (12x18) and 8 photo cards in this important album. The field hockey players from the USA, Switzerland and Canada are impressive, as are the female skaters, in particular a beautiful American... But it's to a couple that we'll award the prize. Olympic Games/ summer, 1920/ Antwerp/ Opening ceremony/ Coubertin/ Photo album of the opening ceremony and parade of nations. In 54 photos and 14 photo cards (and one Olympia image). Two major pieces: the delegations on the lawn, with the first Olympic flag (23x32), Baillet-Latour's speech with Coubertin at his side (12x17). Close-ups show teams from Australia, Spain, Canada, Egypt and France (Emile Ecuyer, 14th in the discus), as well as Sweden, Switzerland, Finland and Greece, parading in shorts.) Women are also present. The album has lost its cover, and is not in very good condition, but it has preserved its photos, perhaps by du Houx. 23X32. Italian format, side lace. Very rare. Heritage item.
