Meissen "Paukenschläger zu Pferd" Designed by Johann Joachim Kändler and co-workers in 1753, underglaze blue pommel mark 1860-1924, incised model number 1963, boss number 50 and painter's number 69.naturalistic design with polychrome underglaze and overglaze painting and gold decoration, an apple mould standing on an oval terrain base with floral decoration above a tree stump support with a mounted soldier beating a timpani, raised mallet, snaffle and spurs chipped, otherwise in good condition for age, h 19.5 cm. Source: Bergmann, Meissener Figuren, vol. III/1, p. 233, fig. 1527.

CHINA HAN DYNASTY (206 B.C. - 220) Funerary model of a terracotta house with iridescent green lead glaze. The house is tall, with a double-pitched, tiled roof. In the center of the facade, a balcony supported by two corbels opens onto two windows with folded-down shutters. The whole rests on four feet, two of which are in the shape of a bear with a rounded belly. H. 47.5 cm; Dim. 31.5 x 20 cm PROVENANCE: Certificate of authenticity from Galerie Gisèle Croës, Brussels, dated April 23, 1985.
