Slade School, late 19th century- Life study of a female figure from behind; oil on canvas, signed and dated 'JAS [?] Patrick / 88' (lower left), 20.5 x 14.7 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: This sensitive and delicate life study exhibits an affinity with the approach of artists from the Slade School, such as Henry Scott Tuke (1858-1929), Sarah Cecilia Harrison (1863-1941), and Thomas Cooper Gotch (1854-1931), whilst also gesturing towards the work of a later generation of artists, including William Orpen (1878-1931).
