George Lennard Lewis, British 1826-1913- Coastal scenes with fishing vessels and figures; watercolours on paper, one signed and dated 'L LEWIS / 94' (lower right), each 23 x 51.5 cm, a pair (2). Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: George Lennard Lewis came from a family of artists, as the son of the watercolourist George Robert Lewis (1782-1871) and the cousin of John Frederick Lewis (1804-1876). Lewis's travels around Europe undoubtedly influenced his output, with the artist repeatedly returning to the coastal landscapes for which he is best known.

W.G.S. Ltd Art Deco sterling silver and enamel table clock 1920s - 1930s Height x width x depth: 9.4 x 14.3 x 2 cm. Weight: 234.1 g. Sterling silver and blue guilloché enamels case, gilded dial with Arabic numerals and black hour markers bearing the iscriptions "8 Days - Swiss made." On the back side "Sterling silver - W.G.S. Ltd," on the brass watch case "SWISS MADE." W.G.S. Ltd, also known as William Greenwood & Sons Ltd and founded in 1913 by William George Sothers in Birmingham, was a British company specializing in the production of silverware. Item condition grading: **** good. The case of the clock is in a good state of preservation with the normal wear and defects commensurate with its age and use over time. The watch movement is currently working but may require a technical service.
