Note: The present work is a typical example of Tromp's output, defined by his bucolic scenes depicting children playing or helping their parents with domestic chores, often using his own wife and children as models. The loose, hazy style of the present work is also characteristic of Tromp's approach, imparting his scenes with a dreamy, idyllic atmosphere.
