Henry Stacy Marks, RA, British 1829-1898- A gentleman inspecting a vase; watercolour heightened with white on paper, signed with initials 'H.S.M' (lower right), 21.5 x 14.6 cm. Provenance: with Thomas Agnew & Sons, Liverpool. Note: Henry Stacy Marks painted a version of the present composition in oil, which is now in the collection of the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, Exeter [acc. no. 206/1911].
