Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work evokes the approach of Seignac, who was a pupil of Edouard Picot (1786-1868), and who specialised in quiet interior scenes such as this work. Indeed, a similar composition by Seignac sold at Bonhams, Knightsbridge, on 13 September 2011 (lot 266).
