William F. Ashburner, British fl.1900-1932- The Bloom of Life; pencil and watercolour heightened with white on paper, signed 'WM. F. ASHBURNER. B.W.S.' (lower right), 51.4 x 70.8 cm. (VAT charged on the hammer price). Provenance: with Richard Green Fine Paintings, London, according to the label attached to the reverse of the frame. Note: The label attached to the reverse of the frame mentions that the present work is one of a pair, with the other half of the pair almost certainly a watercolour of the same proportions depicting a 'Mother and Child gathering Lilac on a Classical terrace' which sold at Sotheby's, Billinghurst, on 24 October 2001 (lot 735).

London 1908 Olympics Multi-Signed (30+) Opening Banquet Menu Vintage menu for the opening banquet held for “Olympic Competitors and Officials” in the King's Hall at the Holborn Restaurant in London on July 21, 1908, two pages, 4.5 x 7.25, signed on the front cover and inner pages in pencil and ink by over 30 attendees, including American flag bearer Ralph Rose (gold medal in the shot put), British sport shooters John Fleming, Arthur Carnell, and William Pimm (each winning gold in their respective events), William Henry Grenfell, Baron Desborough (Chairman of the British Olympic Association in 1908), and more. In fine condition, with light marks and toning.

Pair of English salt cellars, ca. 1900. Punched silver. With hallmarks on both pieces: "Birmingham, 1906", by "William Hutton & Sons". Presents some faults. Measurements: 9 x 3 x 3 cm. Pair of British salt cellars made entirely in punched silver, with the silversmith's name. On a stepped circular base rises the slender and molded body. The upper dome has decorative chiseled and openwork for salting. A small pinnacle crowns the pieces.

William Saltzman (American, 1916-2006). Large oil on canvas abstract painting titled "Lavender Mist." Signed and dated 1980 along the lower right; pencil signed along the verso. William Saltzman was an influential Minnesotan abstract artist, who lived and worked in Minneapolis for much of his life. He was a longtime professor in the art department at Macalester College in St. Paul. His artistic subject matter ranged from landscapes and figures to abstractions, in oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, sculptures, and mixed media. Saltzman's sculpture and stained-glass work in public spaces are well known and his work is enjoyed by owners in many private collections internationally. Throughout his life, Saltzman was fascinated by the interplay of light, color, shape and texture. His work exemplifies his exploration and mastery of these elements.
