First edition illustrated with 138 hors-texte plates featuring 2199 chromolithographed coats of arms. This copy is complete with pages 16bis/16ter, 103bis/103ter & 224bis/224ter in volume 1, containing a few black coats of arms in the text, as well as the supplement (pp. 537 to 631 in volume 2), published 8 years later and containing 6 additional plates with 98 new coats of arms. A very fine copy of this "magnificent publication printed with great typographic luxury". (Saffroy 20049.)
