Note: The present work resembles the still lifes with game for which Oudry was celebrated, particularly in his distinctive depiction of pointers, as evident in his 'Dog Pointing a Partridge' in the collection of the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg [ГЭ-2528], and his 'Dog Pointing Pheasants' in the Wallace Collection [P625].
