After Frans van Mieris, Dutch 1635-1681- Young woman feeding a parrot; oil on panel, bears signature and date 'F. van Miers / 1675' (lower right), and indistinctly inscribed verso, 30.1 x 27.5 cm., Accompanied by a copy of a note from Dr Franz von Reber of the Alte Pinakothek, Munich, dated 19th December 1901, comparing the work to the composition in their collection. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work is a copy after Van Mieris's original, painted in 1663 and now held in the Leiden Collection [FM-112]. Numerous early versions of this work exist, such as the one held in the collection of the National Gallery in London [NG 840], and another in the Royal Collection at Hampton Court Palace [RCIN 404617], and the painting has also been widely copied by later generations.
