* RARE DOUBLE AXE HEAD In bronze with green patina, with a bucranium engraved in the center of each side. Double axes were common not only in Crete, but also in Greece, from the Protogeometric to the Archaic periods. Incisions of the bucranes a posteriori. 5 x 21 x 2.5 cm. Late Minoan III, ca. 1400-1050 B.C. Provenance: Rassla Foundation, Zurich A Late Minoan III bronze double Axe-Head, showing an engraved bucranium at the center on both sides. Double-ax pendants were common not only in Crete but also in Greece, from the Protogeometric through the Archaicperiod.
