Double axes were common not only in Crete, but also in Greece, from the Protogeometric to the Archaic periods. Incisions of the bucranes a posteriori. 5 x 21 x 2.5 cm. Late Minoan III, ca. 1400-1050 B.C. Provenance: Rassla Foundation, Zurich A Late Minoan III bronze double Axe-Head, showing an engraved bucranium at the center on both sides.
