Beautiful and rich pair of Balkan flintlock pistols, luxury model, for a high ranking person probably from Montenegro. Flintlock barrels, slightly blunderbussed at the muzzle, richly and profusely decorated with engraved gold and silver inlays decorated with floral scrolls. Morlaque locks and hammers lined with engraved silver and gold. Engraved silver bridges and caps with flat sides and bottoms. Walnut mounts entirely inlaid with silver wire and ribbed leaves in stamped gold. Crosses decorated, on either side, with a large inlaid silver motif featuring an eagle with outstretched wings, on a thunderbolt, holding a medallion monogrammed "M.G". Length: 40 cm. B.E.
