Carriage alarm watch, so-called "oignon", openworked and chased silver case decorated with foliage and birds, double silver dial, one with Roman numerals interspersed with fleurs-de-lis, single hand in blued steel, the other in a movable central disk for the alarm in Arabic numerals. Key winding movement, bell striking. 2 winding mechanisms (1 for the alarm, 1 for the movement's fusee). Movement signed Abel DURADE Late 17th century. Diameter 48.5 mm. Thickness 34 mm. PB 150 g Late 18th-early 19th century lictor-beam hallmark. Works, to be revised. Abel DURADE was a watchmaker at ARLAUD in Paris around 1690-1710; A silver watch chain is included.
