Festival Icon Russia, late 19th century, inscribed in Church Slavonic, tempera over chalk ground over a hardwood board with two narrow sides, richly gold-grounded, engraved and punched, central motif of the Resurrection of Christ, framed by 16 small-format scenes from the life of Christ and Mary, including the Annunciation, Baptism, Nativity etc., depictions of the four Evangelists in the corners, good condition, dimensions 36 x 30 cm.

Rare icon of the Resurrection, tempera with gold on wood. Kowtscheg. In the center, Christ hovers in a mandorla above the open tomb. On the left, the women are depicted with Mary and Mary Magdalene as they meet the angel at Christ's empty tomb. On the right, Christ meets his disciples while fishing and rescues Peter from the floods. The scene is flanked by two saints in the margin. Inscribed in Church Slavonic; 35 cm x 30 cm x 3.8 cm. A Russian icon. Tempera with gold on wood. Russia. Late 19th century.
