"CEESEPE"; CARLOS SÁNCHEZ PÉREZ (Madrid, 1958). Untitled. Mixed media with collage on paper. Signed in the right central margin. Measurements: 46 x 34 cm; 66 x 52 cm (frame). A key figure of the Movida madrileña, Ceesepe dabbled in surrealism in his mature stage. This oneiric landscape with a circus figure or lion tamer is an example of this. Painter, illustrator and cartoonist, Ceesepe was one of the protagonists of the Movida madrileña, and began his career in the world of underground comics in the mid-seventies in Barcelona, in contact with Max, Nazario and Mariscal, among others. He published comics in the magazines "Star" and "Bésame mucho", and in 1980 he made the poster for Almodóvar's "Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón". In 1982 an exhibition was dedicated to him at the Menéndez Pelayo University, and two years later he became one of the best-selling authors at ARCO. Some time later he left the comic and focused on painting, exhibiting his work in Madrid, Amsterdam, Paris, Geneva and New York, among other cities. His work has been collected in books such as "El difícil arte de mentir", "París-Madrid", "Libro blanco" or "El arte de morir", and in 2011 the Spanish Council of Ministers awarded him the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts. Ceesepe is currently represented in several private collections, as well as in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Madrid, the Ateneo of the same city, etc.

JAUME MORERA GALICIA (Lleida, 1854 - Madrid, 1927). "Landscape. Oil on canvas. Signed in the lower right corner. Measurements: 62 x 90 cm; 72 x 100 cm (frame). Landscape painter, Morera was formed between Barcelona, Madrid and Rome, where he was pensioned. On his return to Spain, in 1877, he set up his studio in Lleida, and made numerous trips around the Iberian Peninsula, painting his various landscapes. Finally he settled in Madrid, from where he traveled to Holland, Belgium and France, following in the footsteps of his master. He participated in exhibitions in Spain and abroad, especially the Universal Exhibition in Paris. He obtained numerous distinctions throughout his career, including the second medal at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid in 1878, the first medals in the editions of 1892 and 1901, and the posthumous diploma of honor at the International Exhibition of Barcelona in 1929. Morera Galicia represents a landscape movement opposed to impressionism and luminism, in favor of the direct experience of nature and attracted by the Nordic landscapes. In 1917 he founded the Morera Galicia Museum of Modern Art in Lleida, which houses an extensive collection of his own works and those of other excellent artists, among which stand out those bequeathed to him by his master. He is also represented in the Prado Museum, the Fine Arts Museum of Valencia and the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastian, among others.
