A shell cameo, depicting a dog attempting to wake his sleeping master, backed on slate, signed C. Pestrini, white border, possibly Cephalus and his dog Laelaps who was later cast by Zeus to become the constellation Canis Major, 4.5cm high. possibly carved by Clemente Pestrini of Rome, first half 19th century.
