La vente est faite expressément au comptant.
Les objets sont vendus en l’état, une exposition préalable permettant aux acquéreurs de se
rendre compte de l’état des objets mis en vente, il ne sera admis aucune réclamation une fois
l’adjudication prononcée.
L’adjudicataire sera le plus offrant et dernier enchérisseur. Il devra acquitter, en sus de l’enchère,
les frais de vente de 30% TTC (frais 25% plus TVA à 20%) y compris pour les ventes
de livres avec une TVA à 5,5%.
Les indications portées au catalogue engagent la responsabilité de la Société de Vente,
compte tenu des rectifications annoncées au moment de la présentation de l’objet et portées
au procès verbal de la vente.
Les dimensions, les poids et les estimations ne sont donnés qu’à titre indicatif. Le réentoilage,
parquetage ou doublage sont considérés comme une mesure conservatoire et non comme
un vice.
En cas de contestation, au moment de l’adjudication, c’est-à-dire s’il y a double enchère, le
lot sera immédiatement remis en vente au prix proposé par les enchérisseurs et tout le public
sera admis à enchérir de nouveau.
Le requérant qui retire avant la vente un objet confié s’engage à supporter les frais engagés
pour cette vente, notamment de publicité et catalogue, et à s’acquitter d’un droit de retrait

Le paiement par chèque sans provision ou le défaut de paiement n’entraîne pas la responsabilité

Le règlement des objets, ainsi que celui des taxes s’y appliquant, sera effectué dans la même

Le paiement en espèces est limité, taxes et frais compris à 1 000 € pour les ressortissants
français, et 15 000 € pour les ressortissants étrangers, sur justificatifs de leur identité (décret

Les chèques tirés sur une banque étrangère ne seront autorisés qu’après accord préalable de
la Société de Vente.
Pour cela, il est conseillé aux acheteurs d’obtenir, avant la vente, une lettre accréditive de leur
banque pour une valeur avoisinant leur intention d’achat, qu’ils transmettront à la Société de Vente.
A défaut de paiement du montant de l’adjudication et des frais, une mise en demeure sera
adressée à l’acquéreur par lettre recommandée avec avis de réception aux frais de l’acquéreur.
A expiration du délai d’un mois après cette mise en demeure et à défaut de paiement de
la somme due, il sera perçu sur l’acquéreur et pour une prise en charge des frais de recouvrement
des honoraires complémentaires de 10% du prix d’adjudication, avec un minimum de
250 euros. L’application de cette cause ne fait pas obstacle à l’allocation de dommages-intérêts
et aux dépens de la procédure qui serait nécessaire, et ne préjuge pas de l’éventuelle
mise en oeuvre de la procédure de folle enchère.
Pour les lots en importation temporaire, une taxe de 5,5% sera due par l’acheteur.
Les frais bancaires engendrés par un paiement venant de l’étranger, par chèque, carte bleue
ou virement sont à la charge de l’acheteur.
ORDRES D’ACHAT :
La Société de Vente et l’Expert peuvent exécuter tout ordre d’achat sans aucun frais supplémentaire,
il convient d’en faire la demande par écrit, 24 heures avant la vacation, à l’aide
du formulaire inclus dans le présent catalogue, dûment complété et accompagné d’un chèque
ou d’un relevé d’identité bancaire.
La Société de Vente agira pour le compte de l’enchérisseur, selon les instructions contenues
dans le formulaire d’ordre d’achat, ceci afin d’acheter le ou les lots au prix le plus bas possible
et ne dépassant, en aucun cas, le montant maximum indiqué par l’enchérisseur.
Enchères par téléphone : l’acheteur désireux de se faire appeler pendant la vente utilisera le

rarity, importance, medium, provenance, exhibitions or historical relevance of any property is
a statement of opinion only.
Any illustrations in the catalogue are solely for the guidance of prospective buyers and are not
to be relied upon in terms of colour or necessarily to reveal imperfections in any lot.
Many lots are of an age or nature which precludes their being in mint condition and some
descriptions in the catalogue make reference to damage or restoration. Such information is
given for guidance only and the absence of such a reference does not imply that a lot is free
from defects not either does any reference to particular defects imply the absence of others.
It is the responsibility of prospective bidders to inspect the property before bidding to determine
its condition, size and to determine if it has been repaired or restored and to request a

Buyers must satisfy themselves to all matters referred above by inspection or otherwise prior to
the date of the auction. They should carefully inspect items about the condition of each lot, as

A buyer’s premium will be added to the successful bid price and is payable by the purchaser
based on a percentage of the hammer price. It is important to remember that there is 30%
TTC (buyers premium 25% + TVA 20%) on top of the hammer price.
Subject to any reserve price, the highest bidder shall be the buyer and a dispute shall be
settled by the auctioneer who may at any time at his absolute discretion and regardless of the
fall of the hammer re-open the bidding or withdraw the lot from sale.
Payment is in euro and is expected almost immediately after bidding for an item. We accept
cash, pre-approved cheque or credit card.
For temporary import lots, a 5.5% tax will be payable by the buyer.
Bank commissions and expenses are the responsiblity of the buyer.
Every item becomes the entire responsibility of the new owner for any damages as soon as
the auctioneer announces that an item has been sold.
Once payment is received you will be issued an invoice and a collection sheet. Items can be
collected after payment has been made. Buyers cannot take possession of or remove their
purchases from the auction until the total purchase price, including applicable taxes or fees,
has been paid in full.
All property must be removed from either our premises by the purchaser at his expense as soon
as possible after the sale otherwise an handling charge, until its removal, will be payable to
the Auction House by the purchaser.
BATCH TRANSPORT / EXPORT :
As soon as the award is pronounced, the purchases are under the entire responsibility of the
successful bidder, the storage and transport of the object do not engage the responsibility
of the Sales Company. The lots will be stored in the Drouot storage at the buyers expense.
The Coutau Bégarie office will not be responsible for any shipment of the lots.
Custody fees will be charged in proportion to the size of the lot if the lots are not collected
promptly after the sale.
In the event a successful bidder fails to pay any amounts due, within one month, the Auction
House reserves the right to cancel the sale and re-sell the lot according to the « Folle Enchère »
French law (Law of July 10th 2000). The purchaser will be charged for all the expenses
caused by the re-auctioning of the property. If the new auction price does not reach the former
one, the failing purchaser have to pay the difference.
In any case, the purchaser will be liable for any deficiency, any and all costs, handling
charges, late charges, expenses, legal fees, expenses and incidental damages.
PHONE OR ABSENTEE BIDS
The Auction House will execute absentee bids and accept telephone bids as a courtesy to
clients who are unable to attend the auctions.
“Phone or Absentee Bid” forms are available online or from the head office. Therefore, we
take no responsibility for any errors or omissions in connection with this service.
For the Phone bid, when the auctioneer is approaching the particular lot number, a staff
member will phone and you can instruct them to bid on your behalf.
For the Absentee bid, you must nominate an amount indicating the maximum price you are
prepared to pay for the item.
The auctioneer will bid on your behalf until the price has reached your nominated amount.
If bidding doesn’t reach this amount, you win the item for the price at which the bidding
ceased.
Bulky lots acquired on absentee bids will be kept on Drouot’s storage (see the conditions
applied).
Small lots will be kept at Coutau-Begarie’s office, beyond a week, 3 € per day will be
applied.

A buyer’s premium will be added to the successful bid price and is payable by the purchaser
based on a percentage of the hammer price. It is important to remember that there is 30%
TTC (buyers premium 25% + TVA 20%) on top of the hammer price.
Subject to any reserve price, the highest bidder shall be the buyer and a dispute shall be
settled by the auctioneer who may at any time at his absolute discretion and regardless of the
fall of the hammer re-open the bidding or withdraw the lot from sale.
Payment is in euro and is expected almost immediately after bidding for an item. We accept
cash, pre-approved cheque or credit card.
For temporary import lots, a 5.5% tax will be payable by the buyer.
Bank commissions and expenses are the responsiblity of the buyer.
Every item becomes the entire responsibility of the new owner for any damages as soon as
the auctioneer announces that an item has been sold.
Once payment is received you will be issued an invoice and a collection sheet. Items can be
collected after payment has been made. Buyers cannot take possession of or remove their
purchases from the auction until the total purchase price, including applicable taxes or fees,
has been paid in full.
All property must be removed from either our premises by the purchaser at his expense as soon
as possible after the sale otherwise an handling charge, until its removal, will be payable to
the Auction House by the purchaser.
BATCH TRANSPORT / EXPORT :
As soon as the award is pronounced, the purchases are under the entire responsibility of the
successful bidder, the storage and transport of the object do not engage the responsibility
of the Sales Company. The lots will be stored in the Drouot storage at the buyers expense.
The Coutau Bégarie office will not be responsible for any shipment of the lots.
Custody fees will be charged in proportion to the size of the lot if the lots are not collected
promptly after the sale.
In the event a successful bidder fails to pay any amounts due, within one month, the Auction
House reserves the right to cancel the sale and re-sell the lot according to the « Folle Enchère »
French law (Law of July 10th 2000). The purchaser will be charged for all the expenses
caused by the re-auctioning of the property. If the new auction price does not reach the former
one, the failing purchaser have to pay the difference.
In any case, the purchaser will be liable for any deficiency, any and all costs, handling
charges, late charges, expenses, legal fees, expenses and incidental damages.
PHONE OR ABSENTEE BIDS
The Auction House will execute absentee bids and accept telephone bids as a courtesy to
clients who are unable to attend the auctions.
“Phone or Absentee Bid” forms are available online or from the head office. Therefore, we
take no responsibility for any errors or omissions in connection with this service.
For the Phone bid, when the auctioneer is approaching the particular lot number, a staff
member will phone and you can instruct them to bid on your behalf.
For the Absentee bid, you must nominate an amount indicating the maximum price you are
prepared to pay for the item.
The auctioneer will bid on your behalf until the price has reached your nominated amount.
If bidding doesn’t reach this amount, you win the item for the price at which the bidding
ceased.
Bulky lots acquired on absentee bids will be kept on Drouot’s storage (see the conditions
applied).
Small lots will be kept at Coutau-Begarie’s office, beyond a week, 3 € per day will be
applied.
Purchase via the Drouot Live platform:
For any purchase via Drouot Live, additional costs of 1.5% excluding tax will be applied (i.e.
1.8% including tax).
Purchase via the Drouot Online et Interenchères platforms :
For any purchase via these platforms, additionnal costs of 3% excluding tax will be applied
(i.e. 3.6% including tax).
