A TREEN CHIP CARVED SNUFF BOX PROBABLY DUTCH, EARLY / MID-19TH CENTURY the sliding cover inset with a mirror, the base carved with a sunburst, together with a William IV oak circular snuff box of disc form with a handwritten note, stating 'This box is made of a piece of oak found underneath the new Bridewell May 1834 being in the city wall which was 13 feet thick and built in the time of William Rufus about 740 years since' (2) 8cm wide (max) Provenance 'A Lifetime of Collecting' - The Property of a Gentleman.
