A GEORGE III MAHOGANY LONGCASE CLOCK BY WILLIAM UPJOHN, EXETER, LATE 18TH CENTURY the brass eight day four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and striking on a bell, on a silvered dial with black Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed 'Will Upjohn EXETON' and engraved with a ship and headland, inside spandrels engraved with a tower, windmill and scrolling foliage, beneath an arch with a moonphase and inscribed 'HIGH WATER TOPSHAM', the hood with brass finials and a glazed arched door, the trunk with a shaped door and panelled base, with two weights and a pendulum 238cm high
