A RARE ELIZABETH I STUDDED LEATHER TRAVELLING TRUNK IN THE MANNER OF WILLIAM GREEN, LONDON, C.1550-1580 with iron strapwork mounts and escutcheons, the hinged domed lid revealing a part linen lined interior above a gilt tooled leather fall front decorated with elaborate lozenges, crowned Tudor rosettes and lions and unicorns enclosing five drawers, with side carrying handles 66.5cm high, 80cm wide, 48cm deep Provenance From an English private collection, Sussex. Catalogue Note A related Royal trunk with a similar fall front and almost identical handles which was made Edward VI can be found in the Victoria & Albert Museum, accession no. w.18:1 to 6-1958.
