LARGE PLAT. Meissen Manufactory, Germany, 19th century. Porcelain, oval-shaped, decorated in the center with a polychrome scene depicting the mouth of a harbor where ships have dropped anchor, surrounded by a wide frieze of gold scrolls framed by two figures wearing Chinese garb and surmounted by a capital. The border is decorated with a series of pink-painted medallions featuring monuments. Age wear to the gilding. L.: 32 cm - W.: 41 cm

Manufacture de Meissen, XVIIIe siècle Pair of hangers Pair of porcelain pendant lights, formerly transformed serving bells, with painted peony decoration in iron red and gold. The base is decorated with alternating flowers and musical attributes in light relief in cartouches surrounded by foliage and surmounted by a frieze of quadrillage motifs. The gilded bronze grips take the form of pine cones surmounting foliate scrolls. Mounted on three-arm mercury-gilt bronze pendants. Crossed swords mark of the Meissen Manufactory, corresponding to the period 1730-1763, on the reverse of each piece. Germany, second half of the 18th century Later ormolu mount. H. 15 cm - Diam. 28 cm (bell) H. 26 cm (total) A similar piece, currently in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, was part of a service commissioned by Frederick the Great from the Meissen manufactory during the Seven Years' War, between 1757 and 1763. The King of Prussia himself is said to have participated in the ornamentation of the piece with Karl Jacob Christian Klipfel.
