DENTELLE AND EMBROIDERY DAY SHIRT, late 19th/early 20th century. Linen, neckline and front adorned with Valenciennes lace inlay and plumetis embroidery of a falling garland of florettes and folioles held together by delicate knotted ribbons embroidered in relief, monogram MLS (Mary de Limburg-Stirum) within a wreath of folioles embroidered on one side, lace neckline gathered by a fine silk ribbon.
