Designer and academic active since the late 70's, Aldo Cibic has an initial self-taught training. His career took off in 1980 when he moved to Milan to join the studio of Ettore Sottsass, soon becoming one of the partners. In 1981 he took part in the founding of the Memphis group, the important movement that challenged the Modern and re-founded design, which marked not only the period, but the entire subsequent evolution of design and architecture. Cibic was part of Memphis until its dissolution in 1987.
