The book contains a lithograph (19 x 28 cm) after a drawing by Alexandre N. Benois for the publication of Versailles. Benois for the Versailles publication. The book contains interesting remarks on the antiques market, the fate of works of art in troubled times, new book editions and, in particular, the release of new books by the Aquilon publishing house, which are featured in our collection. Provenance: Paula Renée Nothafft (née Kaestlin), first wife of F.F. Nothafft, art lover and collector, Hermitage researcher and founder of the Aquilon publishing house. Paula Nothafft was made famous by painter B.M. Kustodiev's portrait of her; in 1923, she left Soviet Russia for Switzerland with her son Andrei, who would later become a major industrialist.
