(period binding). Restoration on one cover, small beginning of a crack on one spine. A very fine copy. Ex-libris manucrit from the library of the Château de L'Isle-de-Noé, signed by the Comte de Noé, most probably Louis-Pantaléon de Noé (1728-1816), owner of a plantation and slaves in Saint-Domingue (he is said to have freed Toussaint-Louverture, with whom he maintained regular relations).
