(period binding). Minor rubbing or spotting. Bipontine impression, on fine laid paper, of the works of the Latin poet (1st century A.D.) Publius Papinius Statius or Stace. Engraved title vignette. The ducal printing house of Deux-Ponts (today Zweibrücken in Germany), known as the "Société typographique", was founded in 1776 and disappeared during the French Revolution. A fine copy.
