Of Hungarian origin, Anna Prinner began her artistic training at the Budapest School of Fine Arts before moving to Paris in 1927, where she adopted the first name Anton. She studied sculpture in Stanley William Hayter's studio, where she produced her first reliefs. Close to contemporary artists such as Picasso and Csaky, she exhibited in the Paris galleries of Jeanne Bucher and Pierre Loeb. After the Second World War, Anton Prinner abandoned sculpture for ceramics and painting.
