Violin probably Mittenwald, 18th century, inside with an indistinct model label Jacobus Stainer? and a handwritten repair label dated 1726, undivided back in reddish-brown varnish, three-part purfling all round, the heavily bulging top with cracks, in need of restoration, l body 35.7 cm.
