Medieval Islamic censer in the form of a falcon, bronze, probably Khurassan 12th century, standing figure of a hunting falcon with cap, open-work chest, head and wings, head with hinge for folding back, h 25 cm, l 24 cm, w 15.5 cm, one foot (was broken off but present) professionally restored. According to the metallurgical Riederer report (Rathgen-Forschungslabor, Staatl. Museen zu Berlin), the piece is definitely of Islamic origin, the alloy matches that of 12th century incense burners in the Bumiller Collection Bamberg. Provenance: Collection of a North German count's family. 4503-001
