(errata et louanges), contemporary red morocco, 5-ribbed spine, gilt title, small-ink ornamented caissons edged with gilt fillet, double gilt fillet and lace framing the covers, gilt coat of arms in the center, roulette on the spines and headpieces, gilt edges over marble, counterpastes restored at the edges (rubs. light rubbing to corners, nerves and spines, worm spots on 2 boxes, tear without missing p. 177, light wetness on last leaf). First edition dedicated to Adélaïde d'Orléans (Brunet III, 901). An exceptional copy, bearing the coat of arms of the Burgundy intendant Pierre-Arnault de La Briffe, marquis de Ferrrières (1678-1740).
