A house with two people can be seen at the top right. On the right, a building in the water, connected to the land by a small bridge. A stone wall in the water cuts through the centre foreground. A boat loaded with barrels can be seen next to the bridge. In the left foreground, four richly dressed figures observe the waterfall. Inscribed at the bottom "Vue de la Chute du Rhin près de Schaffhouse prise du Couchant". Work framed, signature probably on the reverse. Print plate 32 x 42 cm, frame 56 x 67 cm.
