EMILE DESMAISONS (1812-1880) Portrait of Count Alexei Orlov, 1856. lithograph on paper 32 x 20 cm (à vue). The portrait was painted during Orlov's stay at the Paris Conference after the Crimean War. Count (from 1825, from 1856 - prince) Alexei Fedorovich Orlov (1786–1861) - General-Adjutant. Participant in the Patriotic War of 1812 and the Russo-Turkish War of 1828–1829. Chief of the gendarmes and head of the Third Department (1844–1856), Chairman of the State Council and the Committee of Ministers (1856–1860).
