Strasbourg, Heitz, 1826-1828. 3 volumes in-8, green half-chagrin, ornate spines. Illustrated with a frontispiece, 3 folded maps and 13 hors-texte plates. Includes a supplement with a mineralogy of Alsace by Voltz, a description of the plant kingdom by Kirschleger and a list of animals indigenous to Alsace by Hammer. A fine copy.

[FREZIER (Amédée-François)]. Traité des feux d'artifice pour le spectacle. Nouvelle édition, toute changée, & considérablement augmentée. Paris, Charles-Antoine Jombert, 1747. In-8 half red long-grain morocco, smooth threaded spine, gilt title (early 19th c. post binding). Inner spine split. Second edition, entirely recast and enlarged to include new technical developments and a substantial section devoted to ephemeral architecture. The third part contains descriptions of fireworks displays in Paris and Versailles. It is illustrated with a frontispiece, 3 vignettes by Cochin and 13 folding engraved plates. Minor scattered foxing. A good copy by the fireworks maker Claude-Fortuné RUGGIERI (1777-1841), with a receipt in his name (dated 1839) pasted to the flyleaf.)
