Icon of St Paraskeva, Russia, 19th century, oil on wood. She wears the red cloak of the martyr. In her right hand she holds a Russian cross as a symbol of martyrdom, in her left hand she holds a scroll to express her faith. She is considered the patron saint of women's labour and trade. Plate 29 x 22 cm, framed 39 x 32.5 cm. Please note: This object is located in our Swiss branch (Hauptstrasse 100, CH-8280 Kreuzlingen).
