Description

Imperial Russia, Wars of the 1st Empire (1804-1814). Set of two model 1809 flintlock pommel pistols from the Imperial Manufactory of Tula (Toula), 1813, suitable as a pair. Cal. 18 mm approx. All metal parts with slight gray patina. Smooth steel barrels, first with thunderbolts, then round, with barley grain brass sights and numerous thunderbolts. Round-bodied steel flintlock locks signed "TULA 1813", round-bodied hammer and round brass basins. Cast brass counterplates. Walnut stocks with long shafts and caps with long cast brass brackets and brass thumb pieces engraved with the Tsar Alexander I numeral, numbered "412" for one and "531" for the other. All brass fittings are hallmarked. One is fitted with a steel belt hook. Functional two-notch cocking mechanisms, clean and free of play. Inside barrels dirty and dusty. In their original condition, never previously collected. 43 cm (barrels 26.5 cm). (Rare pistols, wear and accidents, small chips with missing wood on the stocks, they have been painted black in the past. Fairly good condition).
