Alexander Ivanovich Morozov (Russian, 1835-1904), oil on canvas painting depicting a village dance scene. Scratched signature on the lower right. Housed in an old wooden frame with a linen trim. Note: Alexander Ivanovich Morozov studied at the Saint Petersburg Imperial Academy of Fine Arts. He did portraits of many aristocrats such as Young Count Apraskin, Mme. Kornilovich and others. His paintings are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery and other museums and private collections all around the world. Dimensions: 16 x 23 1/4 in., (40.8 x 59 cm.) There are several paint flakes towards the bottom of the canvas. No visible signs of restoration.
