Evgeny Mikhnov-Voitenko (Russian, 1932-1988), a Nonconformist gouache on paper painting depicting an abstract composition. Signed with initials and dated '78 center right. Matted, housed in a wooden frame. Inscribed in pencil on the verso. Note: Evgeny Mikhnov-Voitenko was one of the most important representatives of the Leningrad unofficial art of the 20th century, widely known for his series of works Tubes. Now works from the Tubes series are in the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Zimmerli Museum USA, and in many private collections. Dimensions: 29 1/2 x 21 1/2 in., (74.5 x 54.5 cm.)
