BEAUTIFUL FRAGMENT OF CARTOGRAPH INSCRIPTIONS OF SETHI I Egypt, New Kingdom, 1500-1000 BC Limestone Size: 60 x 25 cm Restoration Vertical line of hieroglyphic inscriptions, two signs and the cartouche of Sethi I. Sethi I was the true founder of the Ramesside dynasty. He fortified the kingdom's borders, exploited mines and wells and rebuilt temples and sanctuaries that had fallen into ruin, such as the Hypostyle Hall at Karnak and the mortuary temple at Abydos. Father of the more famous Ramses II, many Egyptologists consider him the greatest pharaoh of the 19th dynasty.
