750 thousandths gold, oval-shaped brooch set with a Roman micro-mosaic on glass paste imitating onyx representing the "Bassin aux colombes", a reproduction of the ancient mosaic discovered in the Villa Hadriana excavations in 1737. The mount is partially chased with foliate motifs. 2 glass paste pastilles and identical micro-mosaics are included. Italian work of the mid-19th century (small dent on the middle, chips).
