SET OF TWELVE ASSIETTES in 950 thousandths vermeil, the wing underlined by a laurel torso and crossed ribbons decorated with the coat of arms of Sarah Bernhardt, featuring her monogram "S.B" surmounted by a theatrical mask, evoking the one worn by Sarah Bernhardt in her role as Empress of Byzantium in Victorien Sardou's play Théodora, and her motto "Quand même", testifying to her valour and pugnacity against all obstacles. Minerve Goldsmith: Mon ODIOT, PREVOST & Cie (1894-1906) Numbered "5506" on the back. Diameter: 24 cm Weight: 6.890 kg (Scratches from use). With two compartmentalized pouches from the Maison ODIOT. These plates were made at the request of Sarah Bernhardt ( 1844-1923), who gave them to Lucien Guitry (1860-1925), actor and father of Sacha. Lucien Guitry was Sarah BERNHARDT's confidant. She was his best man at his marriage to Renée Delmas de Pont-Jest in London in 1882. He played at the Théâtre de la Renaissance, directed by Sarah Bernhardt, from 1893 to 1898.
