GERMAN ECOLE, 19th century Portrait of the Countess de Talleyrand, after Winterhalter Oil on canvas. 94.5 x 71 cm (oval view) Countess Vera de Talleyrand-Périgord was born in Russia (Taganrog) in 1842 to Dimitri Benardaki, Master of Ceremonies of the Imperial Russian Court, industrialist and general farmer, and Anna Igoronva Kapourova. On June 11, 1862, she married Count Charles Angélique de Talleyrand-Périgord, French Ambassador to Russia under Tsar Alexander II.
