Glass rod pendant in gold setting. Late Roman, 4th - 5th century A.D. W 6.5cm, H 2.3cm. Two glass rods made of translucent, greenish clear glass, joined at the ends by gold settings. An eyelet on each of the settings of the upper glass rod. The sockets are decorated with loops of twisted gold wire. One end of the lower glass rod is stabilized with an antique metal cuff. Gold! Intact. Provenance: Ex private property M.T., Munich, since the 1980s.

Wide, slightly ribbed handle of eggplant and greenish glass pulled from the shoulder, bent and attached to the rim. A thread ring of greenish glass around the neck. Broken at the neck and handle and replaced. Provenance: ex Gorny & Mosch 300, 2023, lot 279; ex collection Dr. Wiegand, Bavaria, collection period 1960s to 2005.
