France, Reign of Louis XV (1715-1774). Rare flintlock pistol with two superimposed rotating barrels. Cal. approx. 9 mm. All metal parts with stained gray patina and minor traces of oxidation in places. Smooth, superimposed, rotating barrels with thunderbolts and beads, then round towards the muzzle. The barrels are rotated by unlocking the barrel rotation system using the small lever in front of the trigger guard. Flat-body flintlock lock chased with scrolls and floral friezes, flat-body hammer with chased decoration en suite. Flamed walnut stock with brass cap, two long splints and chased brass thumb piece. Carved brass trigger guard. Steel belt hook. Functional mechanism with two clear cocking notches. Inside of barrels with minor surface oxidation. Complete. (Wear and age patina, minor wear and tear, small crack in the wood on one side of the barrel. Good condition).
