Mme CORCHAND (active 1813 - 1816). Jeune Femme au collier de corail, en robe blanche, à mi-corps vers la gauche miniature on ivory signed and dated on the left in red: Mme Corchand 1816, diam. à vue 6 cm, gilded metal frame, from Maison Melard, marché des Augustins (its label on the reverse), diam. 8.1 cm. (Mold, diseased glass; miniature still sealed to the glass by its baudruche: has not been unsealed for inspection). Mme Corchand, an artist whose works are rare, exhibited at the Salon of 1814 and worked as a painter in Paris until 1816. She is represented in the Musée Antoine Lecuyer in St Quentin. A CIC will be issued, not allowing export outside the European Union. Expert: N. Lemoine-Bouchard, SFEP member.
