Byzantine coins BIZANTINE COINS Justinian I (527-565) Solid (Rome) Helmeted and cuirassed bust facing with cruciferous orb - R/ Standing angel facing with long cross and ctuciferous orb - Sear 290 AU (g 4.41) RRRR Scratches and crushing and possibly from mount. Probably these solids with the name ROMOB instead of the usual COMOB were struck in the Rome recaptured by the Byzantine general Belisarius who had defeated the Visigoths of King Vitiges in 536. - BB
