SUNLIT TOWN WITH MARKET SQUARE Oil on wood. 18 x 24 cm. Signed and dated lower left "A Schwendy. 1881." Vegetable merchants have laid out their wares for sale on a large market square, which is still partly in the shade. In the background the houses of the small town illuminated by the sun as well as covered wagons with horse approaching the market through an alley on the left. (1401462) (18)
